Research Statement

My research is focussed on the neurobiological mechanisms of stress and anxiety in clinical and non-clinical samples. The aim is to understand how anxiety and stress change neural processes and cognitive functions and how these altered functions are related to maladaptive behaviours and clinical profiles. Current projects investigate the effects of early life adversity and epigenetic modifications on physiological stress reactions and functional brain architecture as well as approach and avoidance behaviour in anxiety disorders.
